The incumbent and my opponent Bilirakis, stated on the Republican Weekly Radio Address on May 21, 2016, that money will not solve the Veteran Administrations problems with long wait times, “We just can’t throw money at the problem, O.K.”. He was pleased that congress passed legislation to drug test Veterans to combat drug addiction, to prevent bonuses for the administrators, and to work on electronic record keeping. NONE OF THESE, will increase the capacity to treat our wounded soldiers.
The problem with the VA is under funding. The funding for the past decade does not take into consideration the increased number of returning soldiers from Afghanistan, Iraq, and the current military operations in the middle east and Africa.
The VA must be fully funded to support the needs of the returning troops.
